Meet the Hoogsters. . .
HOOGIE

Dougie Hunter
Dougie

Dougie "The Box" Hunter is the youngest member of the band. He also used to sport the band's greatest asset - a large collection of ginger hair, although for the bands recent trip to Lorient he 'went blonde'. Originally from Musselburgh, he has become an established musician on the West coast of Scotland where he currently lives and works (looking after some little fish). He is also known further afield as a performer, composer and teacher of music at Fèisean.
Keith B. Smith
Keith

Keith "Golden-Bow" Smith from Ardnamurchan is a man of many talents - he plays classical and folk violin as well as bagpipes and viola; he is also a keen instrument maker and plays one of his own fiddles on the new album. He is in regular demand at home and abroad for concerts, recording and teaching and has several other CDs to his name - most notably of Scottish Country Dance music with the Muriel Johnstone Trio. Being the band Brains Keith could probably take on every member of the A Team and come out on top.
Kenny Knowles
Kenneth

Kenneth "MetroGnome" Knowles (drums and percussion) from Musselburgh is Hoogie's secret weapon - you just won't be able to stop yourself dancing to the beat! He's also the smallest member of the band, but makes up for this by carrying around a huge drum-kit. If they can afford it, the rest of the band are going to buy a drum-machine instead: that way, they'll only have to punch in the information once.

Kenn Clark
Kenn

Kenn "Captain C" Clark (guitar & vocals) from Edinburgh joined the band in 1999 and features on the group's second CD. His guitar riffs have brought a new energy to the band as well as a song or two. He is also currently working on his own solo album. His trademark performances on stage and in the bar are highly noteworthy - he is unable to contain either his enjoyment of the music or himself.

Andy Brewster
Andy

Andy "The Rooster" Brewster (bass) is the most recent member to join the band and has successfully toured with them in Scotland and France. He is no stranger to funky folk, having played with Edinburgh based bands on electric bass, mandolin, and mandola. He was also the champion crepe-eater of the band on their recent tour to Brittany! We don't have a picture of him as a tiny wee laddie, since he was apparently born 6 foot 3 inches tall. We do have a picture of him recovering from a Hoogie tour with a cup of coffee. Cheers Andy!
