Slainte

Traditional
and modern Scottish music forms the backbone of the group's repertoire including
many of their own compositions in a modern Scottish idiom, both for listening
and for dancing. The band has been playing since 1996 and with the current line-up
since 1999, based both in Edinburgh and on the West coast of Scotland. Their performances
have taken members of the band all over Europe and they have broadcast on T.V.
and radio shows as well as performing concerts and teaching music workshops at
folk festivals around Scotland.
Their
successful debut CD "Knackiedoo" released in February 1999 on the Kylin Studios
Label received wide press coverage and radio play. Since then the band has welcomed
the addition of Kenn Clark (guitar and vocals) and Andy Brewster (bass) to the
regular line-up.
Their
second album "Just for the Halibut" was released in February 2001 and features
more original tunes and several songs including an appearance by guest singer
and Mod gold medallist Margaret MacLellan. They are also joined on the CD by several
other top guest musicians. "The Halibut" has received much press and radio coverage
and was album of the week on BBC Radio Scotland's Iain Anderson Show. Many of
the new compositions are published in a book of tunes by the band.
